I could compare your eyes to shining stars
That overawe the sun and moon combin'd
I could declare one Venus and one Mars,
The moving lights one ever looks to find
Where'er they be within the towering sky.
Or I might sing a lovesong that compar'd
Your eyes to comets that do hurtle by
Amazing all who view. And, if I cared
To do them such injustice from my soul,
I should now mention dancing Northern Lights,
Aurora Borealis at the Pole
The brigthest and most wonderful of sights.
Yet though my metaphor through skies may roam
Thy eyes forever call mine back to home.
